MHERC values its members and respects your privacy. We collect information about you through our website in an effort to improve our services and provide you with what you need, as well as communicate with you about our services. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We may, under certain circumstances share your information with third parties as outlined below under “Does MHERC share my information”.

What kind of information does MHERC collect?

We may collect information about you or your organisation, such as your name, email address, postal address,phone numbers, when you visit our website to register for a Workforce Development course, join our Library, save your information with us online or contact us with a question or concern.

How do I make choices about receiving promotional communications?

MHERC want to communicate with you only if you want to hear from us. If you prefer not to receive information, such as details of upcoming Professional Development courses, you can let us know by sending us an email, giving us a phone call. You can choose to opt out of email promotional communications by clicking unsubscribe in the body of the email.

If you change your mind you can start receiving communications from us by signing up when you visit our website or when you contact us directly. Please note that if you make an enquiry or register with us, we will confirm your status or enquiry by email. We may also need to contact you via telephone, text message, email or postal mail with questions or information regarding your query or registration.

How does MHERC use cookies?

We may use cookies to enable you to use certain website features, store your preferences, recognise you when you return to our website, and monitor and maintain information about your use of our websites

How do I know my personal information is secure?

MHERC limits the number of employees that have access to the databases that contain personal data, and employees are required to adhere to confidentiality. As an added safeguard, MHERC does not store credit card information with your registered online profile. MHERC processes online payments using Direct Payment Solutions Ltd (DPS). DPS have secure systems to protect your data. Their policy is available for you to read viatheir link prior to completing your online transaction.

While we implement the above security measures on this site, you should be aware that 100% security is not always possible.

Refusal of Membership

MHERC may refuse any registration, booking or Library request at our discretion.

Education and Professional Development

MHERC’s education is designed to enhance knowledge, understanding and attitudes from a researched evidence and strengths-based perspective. Our engaging facilitators are experts in their fields and provide participants with practical skills and tools.

Workplace Education (Private Workshops and Education for Organisations and Businesses)

  • We provide Workplace Education to organisations and businesses nationwide to efficiently and cost-effectively upskill their staff. Choose a workshop from our professional development programme or we can tailor a workshop to meet your needs.

Information and Resources

  • Our friendly staff can assist you in finding appropriate information and services to meet your needs.

  • Our website has information on mental illness, addictions, support, helplines and where to start if you are seeking help for yourself or others.

  • Our Canterbury Mental Health Directory is available on our website to help you find services and organisations to meet your needs. You can search key words or browse the categorised listings. Hard copies of the Directory can also be purchased from our office.

  • MHERC’s onsite library hosts a large collection of books, DVDs, CDs, fact sheets and brochures on a wide range of topics such as specific mental illnesses, child and adolescent wellbeing, addiction, gambling, stress, sleep, communication, relationships and much more. We invite you to visit our library or you can start by browsing our resources online here.

  • Our eLibrary offers free access to eBooks and audiobooks anywhere, anytime from your device. Become a member, then download the free ePlatform app and search “MHERC” to browse and borrow from our collection.

MHERC is a registered Charitable Trust who have been proudly supporting our community for over 25 years. We are based in Christchurch and provide services throughout Canterbury and New Zealand.
